Donations (Gifts in Kind) Coordinator

Arc regularly receives generous donations of household goods, clothing and bedding from the public and from local businesses. Donated goods arrive at our office in The Crescent where they are sorted, stored & delivered when needed to our clients in various locations across Taunton.  

We are looking for a volunteer with a talent for maintaining orderly storage and movement of these goods.  We want someone who enjoys the dynamic challenge of managing the ebb and flow of household goods, bedding and clothing, in and out of our storerooms. 

This is a behind the scenes role, one with a positive impact on our clients; you will be part of our team, ensuring our clients have the practical necessities they need during their time with Arc. 

Are you: 

• Over 18 
• Organised 
• Friendly  
• Able to work on your own initiative and with other volunteers 
• Fit enough to move boxes & bags of donations in & out of cupboards, load & unload vehicle, and cope with stairs 
• Full driving licence & use of own vehicle – ideally one with a large boot! 

You would be responsible for: 

• Coordinating the storage of donated household items and clothing. 
• Keeping all storage areas tidy and well-organised  
• Maintaining an inventory of donated stock 
• Alerting colleagues when supplies are running low  
• Preparing Welcome Packs for new clients. 
• Delivering donated goods to various locations across Taunton. 
• Occasional collection of donated items from members of the public or businesses.
