Citizens Advice South Somerset
Becoming a volunteer may seem a little daunting, but don’t worry! You will be joining a very friendly and supportive team made up of people of all ages and from all imaginable walks of life and all backgrounds.
You don’t need specialist skills or knowledge, we provide you with all the training, supervision and support you will need. We offer flexible volunteering arrangements that mean you can organise your time with us around your other commitments.
All we ask is that you can... Listen with care and attention. Put people at their ease and help them to explain their problems clearly. Be non-judgmental and open-minded. Read and write English and do basic arithmetic. Use a computer with reasonable confidence. Learn new skills and commit to completing the foundation training course.
We provide advice Face to Face, by Telephone, by Email, via Web chat, via WhatsApp and via Skype. You can choose to involve yourself in some or all of these channels as you wish. Why not contact us and find out?
We welcome all volunteers and are happy to discuss the commitment you can make and how this could fit within our organisation
Volunteers are the life force of our organisation and without them we would not be able to deliver the level of service that we offer. Currently volunteer advisers help over 120 clients a week and we want to expand our team in order to bring help to even more local people.
