What you will be doing

• Call a patient, carer, family member at home the day before you are due to collect them and check the arrangements
• Collect them from their home / a Dorothy House Hospice site and help them into / out of your car if necessary
• Deliver them to their destination
• Help them out of the car and ensure that they safely make it to their appointment / home
• Talk to/listen to your passengers if that’s what they want
• Enjoy the experience of making a difference to the lives of people affected by life-limiting illness

The skills you need

• Good driving skills
• Good communication skills
• Good time management
• Friendly
• Able to work on own initiative
• Excellent telephone manner
• Able and willing to communicate by email and mobile phone
• Own a car
