Why we want you
Our shops play a key role in our work. By volunteering, your contribution has an impact far into the future. Last year, our shops raised millions in helping thosewho need it the most – we couldn’t do this without our volunteers and we need
your help!
As a Retail Assistant you can take on a variety of roles according to your level of confidence, experience and area of interest.
What you will be doing
- Till-operating: serving and assisting customers, taking payment for goods and entering transaction into cash register
- Customer service: being friendly and helpful to customers in order to increase sales
The skills you need
- An interest in the shop, and an enthusiasm for raising money through its work
- The ability to work as part of a team and get on with other volunteers in the shop
- Be able to provide a friendly, high-quality service to customers
- A willingness to help with a range of tasks in the shop, and to undertake tasks as requested
- Reliability and Punctuality

About Dorothy House Hospice Care - Somerset
We give care and support to patients and their families in Bath and north east Somerset and parts of Wiltshire and Somerset, whenever they need it; at home, in the hospice, or at one of our outreach centres. We respect the uniqueness of each patient and their family, and empower them to choose the type of care they receive.
