Operational Team Member: Exmoor Search and Rescue

Team members undergo a thorough training programme in skill areas such as:

• navigation
• comms
• rope work
• first aid
• search techniques etc

before becoming a full team member and going on call outs at the behest of the police.

Call outs can be for any missing and vulnerable person in any parts of our area, at any time of the day and in any weather.

About the volunteer

Volunteers need to be

• fit (able to walk at least 10 miles over rough terrain in any weather)
• be experienced in the outdoors
• be able to drive a car.
• love the outdoors
• knowledge of navigation
• Love helping the local community

Commitments

Volunteers are needed generally 3 times a month, the evening of the middle Wednesday and the first Thursday and all day on the last Sunday of the months. Plus call outs and/or fundraising etc.

Minimum 60% attendance at training. Training generally 1st Thursday of month (evening), Middle Wednesday of Month (evening), Last Sunday of month (all day)
