Fundraiser’s
Alison has been a fundraiser for 3 years. Here she tells us what she enjoys about the role.
"I like helping people, and I like to keep busy. Since volunteering I have discovered that I am actually capable of organising events, and remaining calm (most of the time!) in the face of hectic circumstances. I’ve gained both self-confidence and a feeling of satisfaction that I have helped to improve the lives of other people, even if only in a small way.
Last year our group raised over £3,500 through stands at different events, store collections, and table top sales.
I enjoy the events and get a ‘buzz’ out of fundraising. It’s very interesting meeting new people from all walks of life. What could be better than raising money for a good cause and having fun at the same time?

What we will provide to volunteers
💸 Reimbursement of costs🤝 Extra supportAbout Guide Dogs South West
Our ambition is for a future where every person with sight loss has the confidence and support to live their lives to the full and we will not rest until people who are blind and partially sighted can enjoy the same freedom of movement as everyone else.
Every hour, another person in the UK loses their sight, if this was to happen to you, Guide Dogs is there to make sure you receive the help and support you need.
On a daily basis our work transforms the lives of many people, helping them to lead lives of independence and freedom and we wouldn’t be able to do this without the support and dedication of our incredible volunteers.
