Detailed description

Aim of volunteering role: To promote the work of the National Animal Welfare Trust by representing NAWT Somerset at local events via a stand or stall and working alongside other volunteers to carry out off site fundraising and awareness events and initiatives. Tasks: 1. To act in an appropriate manner as a representative of the trust, promoting the work of NAWT Somerset by talking to the public at off site events. 2. To help run a stand/stall to raise awareness and/or funds for NAWT Somerset at off site events. 3. To take instruction on procedures regarding the setting up of various aspects of the events 4. To carry out other tasks relating to events if and when instructed 5. To follow all instruction given on health & safety, including PPE and manual handling Place of work: Various locations in Somerset & surrounding area. Transport needed: Due to the nature of the role, volunteers require their own transport. Please note that all new applicants must complete the NAWT Volunteer Application Form (including providing two references). If invited for interview, any successful applicants will undergo a Health & Safety Induction and any appropriate training before becoming a volunteer. Any appropriate additional training offered must be undertaken. 1. Free entry to events attended 2. Reference available after 3 months volunteering 3. Full insurance cover 4. You will be given appropriate free training in order to talk confidently about the work of the Trust. 5. Helping unwanted and rescued animals – that feels good! Flexible time commitment, you will not have to attend every event but you must be reliable and be prepared to stay for the duration on an event. Most demand will be at weekends- pre arranged with the Volunteer Coordinator and Events Coordinator.
