Do you have a couple of hours a week to help others understand the benefits of getting online? We are looking for volunteers of all ages, backgrounds and communities - and you don't have to be a computer-whizz to have a huge impact on your local community!
Our Mission...
To help older people in the Bath & North East Somerset area take their first steps in using IT and the internet, improving their self-reliance, health and wellbeing by reducing social isolation in a world increasingly moving from face-to-face to services online.
Main responsibilities, tasks and duties:
• To support permanent Age UK staff in providing IT advice to older folk at "drop in" sessions in community centres
• To help in one-to-one or small group sessions, enabling clients to start using IT and end their digital exclusion
• To improve older people's lives through online shopping, banking, advice, entertainment, communication etc.
• To work times that suit your availability within an area of Bath & North East Somerset
Working with Age UK:
• We are one of the country's largest and most active charities, with high levels of professionalism and support
• Our staff, volunteers and clients are protected by extensive safeguarding measures including DBS checks
• This role will provide excellent experience for anyone considering a move into digital, social care, IT support or education

Do you want to make a difference in your community?
Join our Click Café team as a Digital Champion and help older adults (55+) stay connected in an increasingly digital world. No need to be a tech whiz - if you can use a smartphone, tablet, or laptop for everyday tasks, you’re exactly who we’re looking for. Sometimes, you’ll even be learning alongside the person you’re supporting, figuring things out together!
What’s the role?
As a Digital Champion, you’ll provide 1-on-1 support to people who need help with basic online tasks like sending emails, booking appointments, or ordering prescriptions. Your guidance can help prevent digital exclusion, which often leads to isolation and difficulty accessing essential services.
When and where?
• St. Michael's Day Centre, Bath: Every Wednesday, 10 am - 12 pm.
• Keynsham Library: Starting in January, first Wednesday of the month, 2 pm - 4 pm.
• Hope House Surgery, Radstock: Starting in January, first Tuesday of the month,
10 am - 12 pm.
• 1-on-1 Home Visits: Available in the Bath and North East Somerset areas.
Flexible Commitment Volunteer weekly, monthly, or on an ad-hoc basis. Whatever suits your schedule. We offer full training and support, and you’ll enjoy free tea and biscuits while you volunteer.
