Welcome to the Open Mental Health Volunteering Page
Volunteering is a great way to improve our mental health and wellbeing. Through volunteering we connect with our local communities, meet new people, learn new skills, and put our life experience & knowledge to good use - and we enjoy ourselves!
Volunteers are an integral part of Open Mental Health, there are so many opportunities to get involved, and we would love for you to join us.
You can find the current volunteering roles from our Open Mental Health partners listed below. Simply click on the one that interests you and follow the steps to register your interest in a role.
If you need some extra support applying for these roles or have any questions, please contact [email protected] and a member of our team would be happy to help you.
About Open Mental Health
Open Mental Health is an alliance of local voluntary organisations, the NHS and social care, Somerset County Council, and individuals with lived experience of mental health. We are working together to improve the way people in Somerset receive support with their mental health by providing access to a number of specialist services including NHS support, housing advice, debt and employment advice, volunteering opportunities, community activities, peer support and local exercise groups. We want to ensure that people in Somerset get the right support when they need it most.
Volunteer Passport
The Open Mental Health Volunteer Passport provides recorded evidence, that a volunteer has gained the required knowledge to move more easily between volunteering roles within the wider Open Mental Health network. The learning record can be updated on this passport as volunteers acquire new knowledge, understanding and skills.
