Summary

We are looking for exceptional individuals from all backgrounds and skillsets, with a passion for Circus, to join our Board of Trustees

Detailed description

We are seeking new Trustees to support our ambitions, as we nurture the next generation of Circus Artists. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds with expertise and interests which would strengthen our organisation including, but not limited to, Circus, Higher Education, Legal, Finance and Fundraising.

This is an enormously exciting opportunity to drive the future of Circomedia, in a role where you can truly make a difference. We have ambitious plans for the upcoming years and we would love to hear from you if you want to play a key part in empowering people through physical artistry.

Circomedia is committed to equality of opportunity and encourages applications from individuals currently under-represented in the arts from African & Asian diasporas, who identify as LGBTQIA+ and those with ongoing health conditions, disabilities, and different abilities.

About Circomedia

Circomedia is a world-renowned centre for contemporary circus and physical theatre training in the UK. Our rich history begins, rather appropriately, on 1 April 1986, when Fool Time opened its doors as the UK’s first circus school. Becoming Circomedia in 1994, we have grown our centre beyond recognition and now offer a wide variety of training courses for both adults and children, community outreach projects, education courses, and artist collaboration opportunities. Our BTEC, Degree, and MA courses combine high-calibre skills tuition and body training with the development of creative thinking, presentational flair and business know-how. As a result, our graduates develop into accomplished creative artists that challenge the perceptions of circus and physical performance worldwide.

We curate a fascinating and innovative performance programme from our venue in the heart of Bristol and believe in promoting circus Bristol and beyond. In the grand Georgian surroundings of St. Paul’s Church, you can discover some of the most exciting circus, physical theatre, and dance companies from the UK and beyond, and we are proud of the notable part we play in Bristol’s creative arts scene.
