We are running a Welcome hub in Bridgwater for refugees and others who have fled war and persecution.

Description:

We are looking for volunteers to join our Welcome Team.

Our Welcome Team will be a key part of our team. You will provide a warm and friendly welcome, be able to respond to general enquiries, and direct service users to classes and appointments within the Centre. There may also be opportunities to become involved in classes and activities.

Our Welcome Team is required for Monday mornings at Victoria Park Community Centre, Bridgwater, TA6 7AS and Wednesday all day and Friday mornings at Westfield Church, West Street, Bridgwater, TA6 7EU, and we welcome a discussion on how often you would like to give your support.


About you:

You are a friendly, calm and sensitive person, who is able to provide a welcome to our Hub. You can help to respond to queries.

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Able to provide a warm welcome
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Able to work calmly
  • Good communication skills including with people who don’t have English as their first language
