Join us on 9th March to hear about the wide range of volunteering roles available at the ESR.Detailed description
We will meet in the old Waiting Room on the platform at 10.30am. Following an introductory talk we will take a train ride and then you will be shown around the site meeting teams and hearing all about the interesting roles we have to offer. These include public facing roles such as Guard, platform staff, Ticket Office and Shop assistants to behind-the-scenes opportunities restoring and maintaining carriages and locos, the Signal Box and the railway track. Join the Workshop team and one day you could be driving one of our steam engines!

Looking for a volunteering role that provides great satisfaction and oodles of camaraderie? The East Somerset Heritage Steam Railway welcomes new volunteers in a variety of roles. As well as hands-on, practical work maintaining our railway line and our steam locomotive and Signal Box restoration projects, we require public facing roles during the summer season such as Guards, Travelling Ticket Inspectors, Shop and Ticket Office staff. The ESR is a dynamic and friendly organization that offers flexible time commitment according to your availability, social events, free train rides for you and discounts for your friends and family.
