Purpose of role
To help promote Ethical Food Collective Taunton (EFCT) and its activities to the community. In the first instance this will focus on building up the public face of the Collective’s zero waste shop, Lesser Litter. Depending on your experience, it is envisaged it could also involve further development of the website and building a lively social media presence and following.
Key tasks for this role might include:
· Supporting EFCT Directors to devise a marketing plan
· Developing the content and look of the website
· Setting up and managing Facebook and Instagram accounts
· Developing the ‘branding’ of EFCT and in particular of Lesser Litter
· Writing media releases and responding to media enquiries
· If required, providing oversight of any marketing volunteers that may be recruited
We are looking for people who:
· Are creative
· Are an experienced user of social media
· Are passionate about the environment, eating healthily and community enterprise
· Enjoy working in a team, loves networking and is willing to take the initiative
· Are diligent and reliable
Support and training
You will be given a full introduction to the aims of EFCT and be an integral part of the supportive team behind this new community-owned and run business. There will be opportunities for feedback and networking with other volunteers. Whilst the Directors anticipate that you will come with all the skills needed to carry out the role, they will, whenever possible, be open to any further specialist training you may need.

Volunteer hours
This role can generally be carried out remotely, at times to suit your own schedule. Attendance – remote or in person – at occasional meetings with the core EFCT team is part of the role, especially during April, May and June 2025 when the relaunch of Lesser Litter as a community owned and run social enterprise is taking place.
