A dab hand at raising ££? We'd love to hear from fundraisers keen to help us raise the cash to deliver our aims around healthy food and limiting waste.

Detailed description

Purpose of role

To work with the Directors of Ethical Food Collective Taunton (EFCT) to secure funding from trusts and foundations, and through grant aid and donations to enable EFCT to achieve its aims. The role may be undertaken by one or more people, depending on skills, interest and applications received.


Key tasks for this role might include:

• Supporting EFCT Directors to identify funding sources

• Drafting applications to funding bodies, corporate sponsors and other funders

• For successful applications, ensuring compliance with funders’ conditions and evaluation schedules


We are looking for one or more people who:

• Have experience of fundraising in the 3rd sector

• Are passionate about the environment, eating healthily and community enterprise

• Enjoy working in a team, love networking and are willing to take the initiative

• Are able to think creatively

• Are diligent and reliable


Support and training

You will be given a full introduction to the aims of EFCT and be an integral part of the supportive team behind this new community-owned and run business. There will be opportunities for feedback and networking with other volunteers. Whilst the Directors anticipate that you will come with all the skills needed to carry out the role, they will, whenever possible, be open to any further specialist training you may need.

Volunteer hours

This role can generally be carried out remotely, at times to suit your own schedule. Attendance – remote or in person – at occasional meetings with the core EFCT team is part of the role,

We're a brand new social enterprise committed to making healthy, organic and affordable food available to everyone, whilst minimising waste. Initially this will be through running Taunton's very own zero waste shop Lesser Litter in Paul Street, but later in the year we plan to run workshops and other events.
