Summary

School governors play a vital role in organisational and educational development. We need your help!

Detailed description

Being a governor is a voluntary role and therefore it is not paid. People choose to be a governor because they care about the success of the school and the children, and for their own personal and career development.

For the LGB to fulfil its duties effectively, all governors must be committed to the role and act in the best interests of all the children in our care.

The normal term of appointment for a governor is four years. We have many governors who have stayed to serve beyond their first term, and as a volunteer, you can resign anytime if your circumstances change.

The time commitment as a governor varies but typically would be six hours per month.

About Extend Learning Academies Network

We are a multi-academy trust, serving a range of communities in and around Weston-super-Mare. We support a mixed demographic in both semi-rural and urban settings across the county. This also includes an area of deprivation within the top 0.5% nationally. Our schools are all unique, but are united by a passionate belief in the transformative power of education and a set of shared values - working together to embrace individuality and always do the right thing.
