Summary
Volunteers help mainly with the supervision of children with activities in an outdoor/woodland setting.Detailed description
Volunteers will be supporting the Forest School Leader in a woodland setting supervising children and/or activities. The sessions are entirely outside and volunteers would need to be happy to attend in all weathers.
There’s a chance to learn new skills, so this could suit someone who is training or someone wanting to change career to work with children, as well as people wishing work with the community.
There's' also the opportunity to share skills & knowledge you may already have, for example: natural or traditional crafts, knowledge about the natural environment and nature.
There is no specific requirement for how many or which sessions you volunteer for.
We run a school holiday club (forest school style),14 holiday sessions a year with primary aged children (5 – 11 year olds) during the Easter holidays, May half term, Summer holidays & October half term. Our sessions are on Tuesdays & Thursdays 10am – 3pm.
We also run a Parent & Toddler group once a week term time. We also run an adult mental health group and work with local schools.
There will be some safeguarding paperwork to complete and a DBS check if you do not already have one.
