Summary

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic volunteer who can help our Project Administrator to provide support to our staff team and clients in a busy office.

Detailed description

In a registered care home environment , the Volunteer Administration Assistant will support the Project Administrator with administration tasks that ensure the efficient running of the Project Office .

Tasks will include:

a. Secretarial and administrative support to the Project

b. Inputting of accurate data and information into the management systems

c. Processing incoming and outgoing mail

d. Receiving of incoming telephone calls and ensuring messages are delivered in a timely manner

e. Receiving visitors into the Project and ensuring all COVID-19 procedures are carried out and recorded accurately.


We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic volunteer who has demonstrable administration experience, great interpersonal skills and is a team player. They should have a flexible attitude to rapid changes in tasks and be non-judgmental - relating well to people of any background. They should be able to communicate with an all-male client group differing in age and vulnerability in a caring and respectful manner.


Hours are flexible to suit volunteer within normal working hours Monday to Friday.

  • Regular supervision
  • Support from Volunteering Manager
  • Invitations to attend our annual staff conference and Christmas celebration events


Please note that a satisfactory enhanced DBS check is required for this role (to be requested by the Trust), and that role offers will be subject to the Trust receiving satisfactory references and evidence of the successful applicants Right to Work in the UK.

House of St. Martin in Taunton is Langley’s flagship care home. It is a registered care home for men with multiple needs, including substance misuse issues, mental health needs or a learning disability. It provides accommodation for men who require disabled access.
