Summary

Langley Trust has an exciting volunteer opportunity for an enthusiastic, hands-on individual to join us in the role of Volunteer Gardener

Detailed description

Langley Trust has an exciting volunteer opportunity for an enthusiastic, hands-on individual to join us in the role of Volunteer Gardener at our housing and resettlement services for clients with multiple needs.

We are looking for someone to take on the general maintenance of the grounds around our projects which are set to lawn and flower beds. We also have the opportunity to develop allotment areas for growing fruit and veg. You will be helping to create a positive environment where our clients, many with multiple needs, can enjoy an outdoor space where they can relax and engage with nature.

This will be hard work at times but for the right individual, this will be a rewarding experience and something to be proud of.

Key responsibilities:

Working under the direction of the Service Manager you would:

1.   Be willing to work alongside our clients, encouraging and motivating them to get involved with gardening.

2.   Offer advice and guidance about gardening to the clients.

3.   Help to plan, develop and maintain our gardens

4.   Ensure a safe working environment for everyone working in the garden.

5.   Help ensure that all the garden equipment is correctly maintained and serviced, reporting any issues to the Project Manager.

6.   Help with cutting lawns and general weeding.

7.   Help to maintain the overall tidiness of our gardens

Please note: Applications must be over 18 or over.
