Summary

EVERY MONDAY 09:45AM – 12:30PM (except Bank Holidays and Christmas Holidays)

We are looking for a co–facilitator with lived experience/and/or experience within the mental health sector to support the Monday Morning Community Café drop–in, in Taunton.

This will involve supporting with opening/closing premises, setting up tables and chairs, supporting with refreshments along with engaging with group members and joining in conversation

The purpose of the group is to provide a safe, welcoming space in the community for those of us with mental health challenges to reconnect with the community again.

Detailed Description

To support with opening/closing premises safely and securely, setting up and the overall running of group

To provide a kind and understanding presence as a co–facilitator at the group

To look after ones’ own needs if necessary, or if triggering material occurs

Offer light touch emotional support where required and to understand the processes of when and how to signpost to other services where appropriate (training and an explanation will be given about this)

Person Specification

Skills and experience required:

Experience: It is vital the co–facilitator has lived experience and/or experience within the mental health sector

It is important the co–facilitator feels able to manage their mental health well.

Outlook: The co–facilitator will be required to have a level of kindness, calmness, and belief in the ability to move along on a recovery journey.

Skills: Enjoys meeting new people.


All new volunteers will be required to complete 5 essential online training courses as part of their induction into the Charity. Dependant on the type of volunteer role undertaken, additional training may be also required to meet service expectations.
