Peer Connections is a 1:1 mentoring project covering Somerset for people affected by mental health challenges to give and receive support. We support people wit serious mental illness: Bi-polar, Schizophrenia or Psychosis or those with a Personality Disorder. The project aims to help people with their health and wellbeing.

We are looking for volunteers interested in becoming Peer Mentors. You and the person you are supporting will share lived experience of what works for your, finding ways of achieving individual health and wellbeing goals through regular conversations over a time limited period.

Becoming a peer mentor volunteer may be important to you for various reasons: whether it's to connect with other people, support others through using your experiences, help with a sense of purpose or gain experience and confidence for employment.

Your experiences are a powerful tool that can be used to support others who have similar struggles with their mental health. Peer mentoring can be helpful to maintain your own recovery as well as being helpful to those receiving support.
