As a Somerset Libraries volunteer, there are a variety of different ways that you can get involved and support your local library. From helping library staff with stock deliveries and customer requests, to  running activities and events or even assisting customers with digital skills, our volunteers become valuable members of the library team. Our volunteers bring a variety of experience, knowledge and skills and contribute to making libraries a vibrant and exciting place to visit - supporting libraries to deliver a range of opportunities and activities to our customers that also benefit the wider community.

Volunteering in libraries offers a whole range of opportunities. In addition to providing experience of a workplace setting, it also enables you to contribute to your community and widen your social network. As an Under 18 Library Volunteer, you could be helping to keep the library looking fantastic - assisting staff and with shelving and creating displays, helping with stock tasks, supporting staff and volunteers with activities and events and much more.
