Library digital volunteer - various locations across Somerset

If you have good IT skills and would be confident in helping others improve their skills you could support your local library as a digital volunteer.

You will need the ability to explain technology in a clear and simple way. You will support small groups or individuals, sharing your skills and knowledge which will help build digital literacy in your local community.

You could support people to:

Learn computer basics such as using a keyboard and mouse

Access the internet and send / receive emails

Use social media

Support customers to use devices like iPads

Introduce people to an exciting world of digital possibilities

Navigate online resources for information

Stay safe online

You can choose where and how often you provide volunteer support, but you will need to provide a minimum of two hours per week.

You will be provided with a full induction to the library and its resources. We will also provide access to online ‘how to be a digital champion’ courses and resources to support your role.
