Summary
If your interested in finding out more about, and helping to improve, Public Health Nursing services, then this could be the volunteering opportunity for you.Detailed description
Family life and bringing up children are rewarding but can also be challenging. Public health nurses are nurses or midwives who are passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and preventing illness. They work with pregnant women through to a child’s fifth birthday. Their role is to help families adjust to being new parents, and provide information and reassurance to support a baby or young child’s health, wellbeing and development.
We are looking for people who have had experience of our service to help to shape and improve the Public Health Nursing service. This could involve:
- Attending online meetings and forums to discuss service development
- Giving feedback on resources produced by the Public Health Nursing Team
- Looking at websites and online services and suggesting improvements
- Helping with staff recruitment by being a member of the interview panel
- Attending promotional events to publicise the service
Volunteers can choose what they'd like to be involved in and training is offered where needed.
This is a great opportunity to try something different and be vital support in the area of Public Health Nursing, by helping to improve the service in many different ways.
The volunteer will gain an understanding of the roles and range of services offered by Public Health Nurses and it is a good way to decide if further volunteering, or even a career in Public Health Nursing, is for you!
