Summary

We are looking for a skilled volunteer/ handyman who can join us every last Saturday of a month from 11am -2pm.

Detailed description

If your hobby is repairing, if you're happy to share your knowledge, expertises and passion, why don't you join our group of volunteers?

Here at The Engine Room, we are home to Bridgwater's Repair Cafe. The Repair Café has a handful of dedicated volunteers, but our aim is to grow this network to expand the Repair Café skillset. We are looking for volunteers skilled or interested in fixing; electrical devices, jewellery, sewing, small furniture or other household items.

We would require your talented skills only one Saturday a month for up to 4 hours. Join us and make a difference!

The purpose of the Bridgwater Repair Café is to bring the local community together through a series of monthly events, at which people can bring in broken household items to get help and supervision from our experienced volunteers to learn how to repair them.

There are no charges for repairs, but donations will be welcome. This will reduce the number of items going to the landfill and have a positive impact on the environment. Our volunteers will also have a chance to pass on their unique skills. It can also benefit those people in a difficult financial situation.
