Summary

We are recruiting volunteers to become Digital Champions. . As a Digital Champion, you will inspire and assist others to get online.

Detailed description

We are recruiting volunteers to become Digital Champions. As a Digital Champion, you will inspire and assist others to get online, support them in developing their digital skills and learning, and help them confidently navigate the digital world.

Our Digital Champions find that volunteering helps them to connect with their local community, improves their well-being and allows them to give something back.

You don’t need to be a technical whizz, you just need patience, people skills and good digital skills.   You will be helping people learn how to use their phone, or tablet or laptop.

Our Digital Champions provide assistance to people in their local areas, in community hubs where we run our Digital Cafes. You will be helping people who are digitally excluded to get online. You may be asked to help with setting up devices, accessing and searching the internet, sending emails and downloading apps.

You could choose to be based in your local Digital Café for a couple of hours a week or a month, or you might prefer to join our pool of volunteers who help out at pop up events on a more ad hoc basis.

We are particularly seeking volunteers in West Somerset, Taunton, Yeovil, Wellington, Chard, Highbridge and Somerton.
