We are working to create a garden in the middle of Birchfield Park, in Yeovil. We need a garden designer to help design the garden for us.
The garden will benefit the local community whose residents are partly young families with primary school children and will be able to use the garden as a great resource to make memories. Parents will be able to play with their children and teach them new skills through playing, and children also get to play with other children and make friends. These, in turn, will create a vibrant community as families find local connections and build relationships significant to their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
The garden will also provide a suitable community space for older residents to hang around and interact with neighbours and overcome isolation and loneliness. In addition, the older residents can enjoy participating in group activities designed around the garden, such as Tai Chi or meditative walks, which will enable them to maintain healthy physical and mental well-being.
The space where the garden will be is under a large tree. The tree covers the area with its branches and leaves and creates a large shaded area. These specifics need to be carefully considered as they determine the kind of plants most suitable to flourish in this environment.
