Job Seeker Mentor

Work-Wise is a Somerset based charity which provides a free, supportive, non-judgmental and confidential service to local job seekers. Since opening in Taunton in April 2014, Work-Wise has worked with around 200 individuals a year, and the charity is committed to helping people back into work. We are looking for Job Seeker Mentors who are good listeners and are willing to support people with advice on CV writing and job applications using computers and the internet. The satisfaction that you are making a real difference to people's lives, especially when they get a job! Being part of a great friendly and supportive volunteering team with very varied backgrounds! Learning mentoring skills. Many of our former volunteers have been job seekers themselves and have appreciated the help and support gained from working with Work-Wise with finding employment themselves.

Work-wise operates in the hall at the URC, Paul Street, Taunton.(behind Marks and Spencer) We are currently open on Wednesday 9.30am to 12.30 with a view to open in the afternoon 13.30 to 1600. We work on a volunteer rota with a paid manager. We are very flexible and try and do rotas 4-6 weeks in advance.
