About Women's Independent Advisory Group

WIAG is part of Avon and Somerset Police 'Independent Advisory Groups which entails various areas that impact crime throughout Somerset. These critical groups, otherwise known as 'critical friends', provide feedback from the community and gives the public a voice to the police. WIAG covers force wide issues that are gendered specifically towards Women in Somerset. The group covers issues around safer spaces on Somerset streets, violence against women and girls and related issues that could cause a crime to be committed towards females. We are looking for members of communities who have a interest and hold a position in your local community, from members of school PFA's to managers of social community lead projects, charities or organisations.
